Short answer: to pick a dragon dildo size, look at three numbers: insertable length, maximum diameter, and where that widest point sits on the shaft. For a first dragon, an insertable length of 14 to 17 cm (5.5 to 6.7 in) and a maximum diameter under 5 cm (2 in) is a comfortable place to start. Texture adds to how big a toy feels, so a scaled 5 cm shaft feels fuller than a smooth one.
Dragon dildos look dramatic in photos, and photos are terrible at showing scale. This guide is about reading the numbers so the toy that arrives is the one you wanted.
The three numbers that matter
Insertable length
This is the part that can actually go in, from the tip to where the base or sculpted foot begins. Total length includes the base and is not very useful. Most people use far less depth than they expect, so a longer toy is mostly about choice, not a target.
Maximum diameter
The widest point of the insertable part. This is the number that decides comfort. A centimetre of extra diameter makes a much bigger difference than a few centimetres of extra length. If you know the diameter of a toy you already like, compare against that.
Where the widest point is
A dragon that is widest near the tip asks for a stretch at the very start. One that tapers gradually toward the base lets you go only as far as you want. Bulges and ridges along the shaft create "stretch and release" moments, which is a big part of the appeal of dragon shapes.
Our dragon dildos, by size
Here is every dragon in the dragon dildo collection, sorted by insertable length. All are platinum silicone with a suction base.
| Dragon | Insertable | Max diameter | Weight | Shape |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Volcvex | 13.8 cm (5.4 in) | 4.6 cm (1.8 in) | 428 g | Slim, tapered to a fine point |
| Kylvex | 15.5 cm (6.1 in) | 5.6 cm (2.2 in) | 364 g | Bulges with a narrow neck between them, hex scales |
| Revscalyr | 17 cm (6.7 in) | see product page | 393 g | Reverse-facing scales |
| Pyrscalyr | 18.2 cm (7.2 in) | 5.8 cm (2.3 in) | 410 g | Continuous spiral ridges |
| Raptvex | 19 cm (7.5 in) | 5.5 cm (2.2 in) | 569 g | Raptor head, heavier base |
| Vornscalyr | 21.5 cm (8.5 in) | 5.0 cm (2.0 in) | 427 g | Long, scaled, moderate girth |
| Fangvex | 21.5 cm (8.5 in) | see product page | 448 g | Forked tongue, dual stimulation |
| Drakvex | 22.5 cm (8.9 in) | 6.2 cm (2.4 in) | 498 g | The largest, reptile head |
Notice that length and girth do not move together. Vornscalyr is long but only 5 cm wide, while Kylvex is short but reaches 5.6 cm at its bulges. That is why one number on its own tells you very little.
Which dragon dildo should you start with?
Your first fantasy toy: Volcvex. At 4.6 cm wide and 13.8 cm insertable it is the gentlest dragon we carry, and its tapered point makes the start easy. It is built for precise pressure, not for stretch.
You want to feel the shape: Kylvex. Short, but the bulges and narrow neck give that stretch, release, stretch rhythm. A good second toy, or a first one if you already use average-size dildos.
You want length without much girth: Vornscalyr. 21.5 cm of reach at 5 cm wide. Use as much as you like.
You already know you like it big: Drakvex, 6.2 cm at its widest. Not a first dragon.
How texture changes the feel
Scales, ridges and spirals catch on the way in and drag on the way out. That is the fun part, but it also means a textured 5.5 cm shaft feels noticeably fuller than a smooth 5.5 cm one. Two practical rules follow:
- If you are between two sizes, the textured one can be the smaller of the two.
- Textured toys need more lube, applied more often. Use water-based lube with silicone toys.
Why weight and the base matter
Our dragons weigh between 364 g and 569 g. A heavier toy stays steadier in the hand and on a suction base. Every dragon here has a base that works with a suction mount on smooth surfaces (tile, glass, a smooth table), and many are harness compatible. The base also does a safety job: for anal use, a wide base is what keeps the toy from going further than intended.
How to measure what you already own
If you have a toy you love, measure it before you buy:
- Length: from the tip to where you naturally stop, not to the base.
- Diameter: measure across the widest point with a ruler, or wrap a strip of paper around it and divide the circumference by 3.14.
- Compare both numbers to the table above and pick something within half a centimetre of diameter for your first dragon.
Care
Wash with warm water and a mild unscented soap after every use. Use a soft toothbrush in the scales and grooves, where lube collects. Air-dry completely before storing. The full routine is in our cleaning guide, and the reasons we only sell platinum silicone are in platinum silicone vs TPE.
FAQ
What size dragon dildo should a beginner get?
Around 14 to 17 cm insertable and under 5 cm wide at the widest point. A gradual taper helps more than a shorter length.
Are dragon dildos bigger than regular dildos?
Often, but not always. Many dragon shapes are long and textured rather than very thick. Check the maximum diameter on each product page.
Are dragon dildos safe for anal use?
Yes, if the toy has a flared or suction base, is made of body-safe silicone, and you use enough lube. Go slowly and stop if you feel sharp pain.
What is the difference between insertable length and total length?
Total length includes the base. Insertable length is only the part that can go in, so it is the number to compare.
Can I use a dragon dildo with a harness?
Many of ours have a base that fits a standard harness ring. Check the product page of the one you are looking at.
