Is Tyrvax the right choice for my level?
This is an Intermediate model. It works well as a second or third purchase, once you know whether you prefer weight, texture, or channel count. If it is your very first, we would suggest starting lighter.
Is it really worth it compared to a cheaper TPE toy?
Depends on what you want. TPE is softer and cheaper, and if that is all you care about, TPE wins on that single point. But TPE is porous, it absorbs moisture, needs powdering after every wash, degrades in months, and cannot be fully sanitized.
