How to Clean a Furry Masturbator Without Ruining the Fur

By Elion 4 min read

White long-fur furry masturbator with a silicone entry

Short answer: to clean a furry masturbator, wash only the silicone channel with warm water and mild unscented soap, rinse well, and let it drain and air-dry for a full day. Keep the fur dry: spot-clean it with a damp cloth, never soak it, and never use heat on it. If your toy has a removable fur sleeve, take it off and hand-wash it separately in cool water, then lay it flat to dry.

A furry masturbator is two materials in one toy, and they need opposite care. Silicone loves warm water. Synthetic fur hates heat and stays wet for hours. Get that right and the toy lasts years; get it wrong and the fur mats, smells or loses its softness.

First, check which type you have

Fixed plush body: the fur is part of the toy and cannot come off. Most of our furry masturbators are built this way. Rule: water goes in the channel, never over the fur.

Removable fur sleeve: the silicone insert slides out of the fur. Examples are Lynxplux, Rongplux and the Korvex paw. Rule: separate them, wash each the right way, reassemble only when both are bone dry.

The product page tells you which one you own. When in doubt, treat it as fixed.

What you need

  • Warm running water
  • Mild, unscented soap or a toy cleaner
  • A soft, lint-free cloth or microfibre towel
  • Paper towel
  • A wide-tooth comb or soft wire pet brush, for the fur

Skip: alcohol, bleach, scented soaps, and anything oil-based. They irritate skin or leave residue in the channel.

How to clean a furry masturbator with a fixed fur body

  1. Clean right after use. Lube and fluids are easiest to remove before they dry.
  2. Hold it opening-down over the sink, so water flows out of the channel and away from the fur.
  3. Flush the channel with warm water, then work a drop of soap or toy cleaner in with your fingers as far as you can reach. On dual entry toys, do both channels.
  4. Rinse until no soap is left. Leftover soap makes the silicone feel tacky and can irritate next time.
  5. Wipe the entry and the fur around it with a damp cloth. Do not pour water over the plush.
  6. Drain and dry the channel: stand the toy opening-down on a towel, or push a loosely rolled paper towel into the channel to wick out the water. Change it once if it gets soaked.
  7. Air-dry for 24 hours before storing. Moisture trapped inside is the main cause of smells and mould.

How to clean a removable fur sleeve

  1. Slide the silicone insert out and wash it exactly like the channel above. Since it is out of the fur, you can wash the outside too.
  2. Only wash the fur sleeve when it needs it, not after every use. Spot-cleaning is enough most of the time.
  3. For a full wash, hand-wash in cool water with a small amount of gentle detergent. Squeeze, do not wring or twist.
  4. Rinse in cool water, press out the water in a towel, then lay it flat in its natural shape to air-dry. Long fur dries best laid flat so it stays straight.
  5. When dry, brush gently with a wide-tooth comb or wire brush to bring the loft back.
  6. Reassemble only when the sleeve and the insert are completely dry.

Never use heat on the fur

Synthetic fur is made from plastic fibres. Heat makes them warp, frizz or melt, and the damage does not come back. That means no tumble dryer, no radiator, no hairdryer on hot. Textile care specialists give the same advice for faux fur in general: cool water, no dryer, lay flat or hang to dry. The silicone channel handles warm water perfectly; it is only the fur that needs protecting.

Lube that protects both materials

Use a water-based lube. It rinses out of the channel easily and does not harm silicone. Silicone lube can bond with a silicone toy and damage the surface over time. Oil-based lube is the worst choice for furry toys: it is hard to rinse out of a channel and can stain or stiffen plush.

Storage

  • Store it dry, in a cotton pouch, pillowcase or drawer.
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight, which fades dyed fur over months.
  • Do not press other toys against the fur for long periods; it flattens the pile.
  • If the fur looks flat after storage, a gentle brush brings it back.

Common problems and fixes

The channel smells

Almost always water or lube left inside. Wash again, then dry longer, opening-down, with paper towel in the channel. Make drying a habit, not an afterthought.

The silicone feels sticky

Leftover soap, lint, or silicone lube. Wash with a little soap, rinse thoroughly, and switch to water-based lube.

The fur is matted

Let it dry fully, then brush from the tips toward the base in short strokes with a wide-tooth comb. Never brush wet fur hard.

Fur got soaked by accident

Press out what you can with a towel, then let it air-dry at room temperature, opening-down, for as long as it takes. Resist the hairdryer.

FAQ

Can I put a furry masturbator in the washing machine?

No. A fixed plush body should never be submerged. A removable fur sleeve is safest hand-washed in cool water.

Can I boil the silicone part?

Not a toy with fur attached. A removable silicone insert is solid silicone, but warm water and soap are enough for routine cleaning. Check the care notes on your product page.

How often should I wash the fur?

Spot-clean as needed. A full wash of a removable sleeve every so often is plenty; over-washing wears the fibres faster.

How long does it take to dry?

Give the channel a full 24 hours. Thick or long fur can take longer to dry after a wash.

Can I share a furry masturbator?

The platinum silicone channel is non-porous and washable, but a stroker is personal. If you share, clean it thoroughly between users.

For silicone-only toys, see our silicone toy cleaning guide. For why the channel material matters, read platinum silicone vs TPE.
